Inspired by the buoyant atmosphere of the market stalls and music halls in the history of ‘Lower Marsh’ and ‘The Cut’, I have designed a retail and Comedy store aiding, the recreation of this atmosphere for the community. The store will source unwanted clothes form local theatres and upcycle them. To allow for a simultaneous experience of retail and comedy, I have designed mobile furniture units that have a dual purpose of displaying clothes and providing a backdrop for comedy stand up. The units can be rearranged allowing for a dynamic use of space. The facade design creates many interior and exterior viewpoints in and around the building, showcasing the different comedy performances happening and, the retail items on display. I have also placed  quotes from famous comedians on the façade to reflect the happy and humorous ambience I want created in the building.
